the artist

RONALD NEILL DIXON, NDD

Born in Ireland on Good Friday in 1941, designer Ronald Neill Dixon brings an extensive and diverse set of credentials and experience to his work in the liturgical arts.  The son of a church organist, he was well grounded in the faith before receiving his formal training in his craft at the college level.

With his strong foundation in religion, a major in stained glass, and a minor in silversmithing, he was sought out by an American liturgical arts studio which sponsored his move to this country in the early 1960's.

Working with various studios for the next 25 years, Mr. Dixon received hundreds of commissions from churches and temples of diverse denominations throughout the United States and designed each project individually to produce a work of art reflective of the faith and lives of each religious community.  In the early 1990's, he began to design ecclesiastical art and interiors under his own name through the Dixon Studio of Virginia.
